Normandy 1944 Map Update
When we started the DCS World War II series, we realized that one of the most important aspects of the series will be a great set of period maps to support the aircraft. Our first effort in this direction has been the Normandy 1944 map. Although originally scoped to just include the immediate area around the Normandy landing areas, the product has grown based on customer feedback and to create a great single player and multiplayer environment. This has taken the us in the following directions:
A lot has been on the line for the valiant WWII pilots flying on Burning Skies server – during the first 10 days, the server hosted a qualifying phase to determine who was going to earn the right to fight in Grudge Match 4, a premium DCS PvP event sponsored by DCS makers themselves: Eagle Dynamics! A-10C: Stone Shield Campaign Available
The A-10C: Stone Shield campaign is a story-driven campaign that puts you in the cockpit of an A-10C Warthog as a USAF pilot assigned to the 445th Air Expeditionary Wing. In 2015 Abkhazia, South Ossetia and Russia have announced the start of the “Caucasus-2015” military exercise. Intelligence analysis later reveals that the exercises is actually cover for Russia forces repositioning to the Abkhazian territory and further escalating tensions in the Caucasus region. The 445th Air Expeditionary Wing and the 6th mechanized brigade have been deployed to Georgia as a response by NATO to counter Russia’s military aggression against its peaceful neighbor.
This weekend we are releasing a new version of DCS World 2.0 Open Alpha. The 2.0.5 version will include support for DCS: Spitfire LF Mk. IX. In addition to bringing this great aircraft module to DCS World 2.0, the update will also bring other benefits like updates to both the A-10C and F-15C Red Flag campaigns, new F-5E skins, fixes to the Spitfire and other aircraft modules, and VR improvements. You can read the complete changelog for DCS World 2.0.5 in the dedicated thread on DCS forum.
